REGISTRATION


General Registration for 2025/2026   March 15th until April 15,2025

 Prior to registering parents/guardians are strongly encouraged to make sure they have the required information and have completed the registration requirements outlined below. Incomplete registration packages will not be accepted.

 

RAMP Registration

We are excited to once again use RAMP for our 2025-26 registrations. You will need to set up an account (http://Sookemha.rampregistrations.com) specifically for registration. Only ONE registration account is required per family.  

Please note that this system is separate from our website, official assignor and team app.

 

Registration Requirements:

  1. Player information (name, address etc.)
  2. Parent/Guardian information (names, address, phone number, etc.)
  3. Read SDMHA Social Media Policy
  4. Read SDMHA Code of Conduct
  5. Review/sign all outstanding Hockey Canada/BC Hockey waivers linked to my players Spordle account (https://account.spordle.com/login)
  6. Create/update SDMHA RAMP registration account
  7. Create/update emergency medical/contact information (ePACT)
  8. Successfully complete Respect In Sport for Parents or Activity Leaders/Coaches (must provide certificate # during registration, to find your certificate # click HERE)
  9. Complete Criminal Record Check, for further information please see Criminal Record Check page (If submitting a CRC for the first time or renewing, please attach proof of CRC submission to player registration. If you are uncertain of your CRC status/expiry please contact registrar@sookeminorhockey.ca 
  10. Valid credit card for payment (Visa, MasterCard, Visa Debit or MasterCard Debit)

U6 (Birth Year 2020), $600 + $100*

U7 (Birth Year 2019), $705 + $100*

U8 (Birth Year 2018), $705 + $100*

U9 (Birth Year 2017), $705 + $100*

U11 (Birth Year 2016/2015), $830 + $100*

U11 Female (Birth Year 2016/2015), $675 + $100*

U13 (Birth Year 2014/2013), $830 + $100*

U13 Female (Birth Year 2014/2013) $785 + 100*

U15 (Birth Year 2012/2011), $830 + $100*

U15 Female (Birth Year 2012/2011) $785 + 100*

U18 (Birth Year 2010/2009/2008), $840 + $100*

 

 *Subject to a $100 fundraising fee

 

Payment

Registration fees are to be paid by credit card either in lump sum at registration or in four monthly installments (Registration submission, April 25, May 30, June 27).

 

Try Out Fee

All players wishing to try out for a SDMHA Rep Team must pay a non-refundable tryout fee. This fee covers ice time, evaluation costs, and administrative expenses associated with the selection process. Tryout fees must be paid in full before a player is eligible to participate.

Please note that paying the tryout fee does not guarantee placement on a team. Players who are not selected for a rep team will be eligible to join one of the recreation teams within the association.

Details on tryout schedules will be sent out in early August.

 

New to Sooke Minor Hockey Discount

Families who are registering for the first time with SDMHA are eligible for a $100 discount on registration - Please contact registrar@sookeminorhockey.ca for further information prior to registration to receive your promo code.

 

Family Discount

Families with three or more players registered with SDMHA are eligible for a 20% discount on general registration fees.  Please contact registrar@sookeminorhockey.ca for further information prior to registration to receive your promo code.

 

Goalie Discount

Families registering a full time goalie with SDMHA are eligible for a $500 reduction in fees for divisions U11, U11 Female, U13, U13 Female, U15, U15 Female and U18.  Goalies claiming this discount MUST play net for the duration of the season, should a goalie change position mid-season full player fees will be assessed.  Please contact registrar@sookeminorhockey.ca to receive your promo code. 

 

Tournament/Jamboree Fees

Individual SDMHA teams may elect to participate in tournaments or jamborees during the hockey season. Each team is eligible to receive up to $500 from SDMHA towards one tournament in the season. Please contact Treasurer@sookeminorhockey.ca for more information

 

Refund Information

  • Players who withdraw at any time due to injury, illness or family relocation will be entitled to 100% of unused regular registration fees less a $50 administration fee
  • Prior to August 15th - Players who withdraw will be charged a $50 administrative fee and will be refunded the remainder of their fees paid. 
  • August 15th - September 8th - Players who withdraw will be charged 50% of the player's registration fee and a $50 administration fee. (This will be deducted from the refund)
  • September 9th - No refunds will be issued if a player withdraws after September 9th, 2024. 
  • Special consideration may be granted by SDMHA Executive to a player in an extraordinary circumstance.

Kidsport Canada

Kidsport is a program that will provide financial help with sport registrations.  Please click on link for more information.

 

Athletics for Kids 

A4K is available province-wide for children ages 5 to 18 who are currently enrolled in school. Registration fees are paid for any sport recognized by Sport BC, up to an annual maximum of $600 per child (considerably higher than other sport funding charities). Through A4K, hundreds of BC children have the opportunity to follow their dreams through sport. 

Canadian Tire JumpStart Program 

Canadian Tire JumpStart is a community-based charitable program that helps kids in financial need participate in organized sport and recreation such as hockey, soccer and swimming.  Please click on link for more information.

 

Canadian Tire FirstShift

The CANADIAN TIRE FIRST SHIFT program is designed to ensure a positive experience for new-to-hockey families by offering a program that is ACCESSIBLE, AFFORDABLE, SAFE, and most importantly, FUN!

 

Hockey Canada Assist Fund

The Assist Fund will provide up to $500 per player in registration fee subsidies to approved applicants who are registered with a Hockey Canada-sanctioned association.

 

SportAssist

SportAssist is a Langford-based, non-profit organization committed to the goal of keeping sport affordable and accessible to youth in our community, enabling everyone wanting to participate in an organized sport with the means and opportunity to do so.  Let no child be left on the sidelines!

 

Division Waitlists 

SDMHA strives to have everyone play hockey in Sooke but certain registration numbers might not make it feasible. To avoid disappointment, we would like to encourage all players to register early to ensure they have space on a team to play.

Waitlists may be taken based off of enrollment to ensure balanced teams for the 2025/2026 season

 

Tier 1 Tryouts

SDMHA players trying out for any Tier 1 team MUST register and pay for their SDMHA registration prior to trying out.  Should a player make a Tier 1 roster they will be refunded the SDMHA General Registration fee and be released from SDMHA for the current hockey season.

 

Late Registration

Late registration will be open from June 23 to June 30, 2025 and will be subject to a $50 late registration fee. Please note that some divisions may be full and only accept waitlist requests.  Registration fees are due in full at time of late registration.

  • If you have difficulties during registration, please email webmaster@sookeminorhockey.ca for assistance with only the words "REGISTRATION HELP" in the subject line to ensure a prompt response.  Include your name, question and a contact number where you can be reached.  Please restrict your questions to registration issues only, as the webmaster will not be answering any questions/concerns regarding registration fees.
  • We would also ask that you DO NOT email any other executive members, your coordinator or team manager directly with questions/concerns regarding registration or registration fees.
